While we are on the subject of real vampires. . .Here is a little piece of history you may find compelling:
Countess Elizabeth Bathory (1560-1614) known as “the blood countess” is often considered to have been a real vampire. She tortured and killed hundreds of her most beautiful servant girls and would bath in their blood believing that it would keep her young and beautiful. She was only imprisoned when her taste for blood lead her from servant girls to members of prominent families. She was said by most accounts to have been very beautiful. Did her unusual bathing habits work? . . . You decide.
